Marathon Sunday

Today was the 41st running of the New York City marathonEvery year, we love to cheer the runners and watch the diverse crowd on and off the course.

We typically head down fairly early to Queens Plaza, just before mile 15, and watch the professional runners go by.  This is followed by a long, often cold, wait for the crowds.  With Miss Rosalie and all, though, we headed down a little later this year.  Actually, we ended up watching both the fast men and the fast women finish on TV, as we tried to get the baby wrapped up to go.   After a quick subway ride down on the N, we stood on Crescent Street near 43rd Ave and applauded all the hard-working athletes.  Rosalie seemed to have a good time, manifested primarily as sleeping in her cold-weather outfit.

As we were walking back through the eerily carless Queens Plaza, Onkel Shady took this excellent picture of the stream of runners heading up-bridge.
